With winter just around the corner, it’s time to map out your snowy Sunriver vacation. Whether you’re skiing at Mt. Bachelor, snowshoeing through the forest, or zipping through the trees on a snowmobile there are plenty of winter activities in Sunriver.

Skiing and Snowboarding
Mt. Bachelor is approximately a 20-minute drive from Sunriver. Once there, you’ll find an activity for every member of your family. Mom and dad can hit the slopes while the young ones hang out in the warmth with the Mt. Bachelor childcare program. If your kiddos are a bit older and feeling adventurous, Mt. Bachelor provides ski and snowboard lessons for ages starting at just four years old. If you didn’t bring your own gear, the mountain has you covered with their equipment rental program.
Another fun activity up at Mt. Bachelor is their Snowblast Tubing. Fun for the whole family, you hop on a tube, get towed up a hill near the bottom of Red Chair and then zip down the 800-foot hill full of rollers! Be sure to reserve your spot as busy weekends and holiday periods sell out quickly. Snowmobiling
With more than 500 miles of groomed snowmobiling trails in the area, you’ll never be short of fun and adventure. The nearest snowmobiling trails are Wanoga and Dutchman Flat Sno-Parks, approximately 20 minutes from the Village. Bring your own machines or link up with Good 2 Go Food and Fun, who offer snowmobile rentals in the Sunriver Village. Dog Sledding
Enjoy a thrilling ride in a state-of-the-art Iditarod Sled as it’s pulled by twelve huskies. Trail of Dreams is operated and owned by Jerry Scdoris and his daughter Rachael. Riding with their athletic team of dogs is a unique and majestic experience. Imagine gliding over the snow and taking in the sights of Central Oregon from the comfort of an Iditarod Dog Sled.
There are a variety of trips available, from a 10-minute children’s trip to a marathon trip up to Elk Lake. This adventure is very popular in the area, so make your reservations early!
