DESCRIPTION:On St. Patrick’s Day many drink Irish stouts. On Halloween\, some of us drink pumpkin beers. So celebrate Arbor Day by coming to The Ale Apothecary to try over a dozen different TREE BEERS. Yes\, beers made with ingredients foraged from West Coast forests and beyond\, ingredients such as spruce tips\, fir tips\, juniper berries\, bark\, lichen\, and even tree-dwelling mushrooms. \nIt’s worth noting that Bend’s only all-wild brewery\, The Ale Apothecary\, originated with a Sahati-style ale\, native to Finland\, brewed in a hand-hollowed Sitka Spruce tree from the Skyline Forest where the brewery remains. People who purchase the VITree package will be shuttled\, courtesy of Cog Wild\, from the Century Blvd. tasting room to the private brewery for tours and samples of vintage tree beers. \nPurchase a ticket for either session\, 12 – 3pm or 4 – 7pm\, and you’ll be welcomed at the Apoth tasting room with your first three pours of tree beers included. There will be over a dozen tree beers including many from like-minded breweries from around Oregon\, up and down the Pacific Coast\, and clear across to the Eastern shore. These include our friends at Alesong (Eugene)\, De Garde (Tillamook)\, Upright (Portland)\, Block 15 (Corvallis) & Fort George (Astoria)\, Wolf Tree (Seal Rock)\, McMenamins Thompson Brewery (Salem)\, Jester King (Austin\, TX)\, Propolis (Port Townsend\, WA)\, Fruition (Watsonville\, CA)\, Scratch Brewing (Ava\, IL) and Wunderkammer Biermanufaktur (Wolcott\, VT) \nPackages of 4 drink tickets for $10 will be available. DESCRIPTION:Seek the stars at the nation’s largest collection of publicly accessible telescopes. Two-hour sessions start out with an educational presentation\, followed by night sky viewing through various telescopes with staff astronomers\, and a guided constellation tour. All sessions will take place regardless of weather or visibility and activities may be modified as weather \nwarrants. Capacity for each session is limited. This experience is not recommended for children ages 5 and younger. \nTickets are for a specific date and 2-hour session. Only 10 tickets total may be purchased in one transaction. All adults and children require a ticket. \nTickets\n  \n$35/person\nMembers receive discounted admission. \nAll observatory guests\, including members\, must reserve tickets in advance online.  Walk-in visits are not permitted at this time and tickets will not be sold on site.

Learn about star life cycles and the different kinds of stars. Together we will observe our star\, learn about black holes in a hands on experiment\, and create our own star wheel to identify constellations in the night sky. \n \nPre-registration is required\, and capacity is limited.  This program will take place indoors and outdoors.
