The trail is open to both skiers and snowshoers\, however walking (without snowshoes) is not permitted. Enjoy a full menu of food and beverages from the Nordic Cafe\, experience a winter bonfire on the snow\, and ring in 2026 in the great outdoors. \nThe lodge will remain open until 8:00 p.m. and will be staffed to outfit guests with trail passes\, rental equipment\, and hot food and beverages. The Nordic Retail Shop will be open for clothing and accessory purchases\, and Nordic Ski Patrol will be onsite throughout the evening. \nNordic Passes Required\nThis is a self-guided experience; however\, a Half-Day Nordic Trail Pass ($24 adult / $16 senior & youth) or a Nordic Season Pass is required for the event. The Geminids are bright and fast meteors and tend to be yellow in color. \nQuick Facts\nActive Dec. 1\, 2025 – Dec. 21\, 2025 (Peak Dec. 12-13)\nObserved Under Dark Skies Expect 40 to 50 meteors per hour\nMeteor Velocity 21 miles (33.8 kilometers) per second\nOrigin: 3200 Phaethon (an asteroid or a possible “rock comet”)\nRadiant: Constellation Gemini \nViewing Tips for the Geminids Meteor Shower\nThe Geminids are best viewed during the night and predawn hours and are visible across the globe due to a nearly 24-hour broad maximum. This shower is considered one of the best opportunities for young viewers since this shower starts around 9 or 10 p.m. To view the Geminids\, find an area well away from the city lights or street lights. Sunriver is within an International Dark Sky Place area\, so it’s the perfect location to view! \nCome prepared for winter temperatures with a sleeping bag\, blanket\, or lawn chair. DESCRIPTION:For those looking a light-hearted putting tournament to support youth in the south County area\, this is your event! Have fun with a morning/afternoon of golf for a cause and enjoy food\, music\, and prizes! The Sunriver Oktoberfest Golf Tournament is a joint fundraiser for Sunriver Women’s Club\, Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce\, and the Sunriver Resort. \nEvent Details\nFriday\, September 26th\, 2025 | 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.\nLocation: Grays Trail Putting Course behind the Sunriver Lodge \nGreat Food\nFood trucks will be open in the backyard of the Sunriver Lodge\, serving food and drinks. Water bottles will be for sale on the course. \nPrizes\nPrizes\, including commemorative glass Oktoberfest pint glasses and gift baskets\, will be awarded for first\, second\, and third place in both pairs and singles competitions. Prizes will be awarded at Sunriver Brewing Tap House at 4 pm on Friday\, September 26th. \nCost & Registration for the Event\nYou may play as a single or in teams of two. Awards will be announced at Sunriver Brewery Taproom; you can be the first to buy a pint of Oktoberfest beer when they tap the keg at 4 p.m. \nThe cost is $30 per single\, $60 per team. \nThe course will only be available to ticketed players! Youth under 12 need to be paired with an adult on the course. Children will not be allowed to play independently for their own safety. \nTickets are available for single player competition\, and Team Pairs to be sure that you are paired with a friend or family member. The pairs will be competing as a Paired Team. When a pair team signs up the first name entered will be the main contact\, and the second of the pair will be registered as a “guest” in our system.
