As February comes to a close, we can’t help but think about Spring! Blue skies, longer days, and the promise of comfortable temperatures are giving us cabin fever. If you’re itching to get outdoors as the next season approaches, here are our top suggestions for your spring adventure in Sunriver.

Spring Mountain Biking

There are tons of amazing mountain biking trails in Central Oregon. One of the rides most accessible through Sunriver is the Deschutes River Trail, a 2.5-4 hours for the ride depending on the stops you make. You may choose to do a portion of the trail or ride the entire thing from Sunriver to Bend or vice versa. With views of lava flows, the Deschutes River, and the chance to spot some wildlife, you won’t be disappointed with this ride. There are several access points, making it a trail that allows you to choose the ride that best suits you.

Ski Season Continues at Mt. Bachelor

One of our favorite things about central Oregon is that you can take advantage of the winter sports activities that Mt. Bachelor has to offer through the spring! Ski, snowboard, and more late into spring (often all the way through to Memorial Day weekend)! Plan a spring snow day on the mountain, then escape back to Sunriver for some slightly warmer weather.

Down in the lower elevations, we won’t be waiting for snow to melt to begin those summer-like adventures. If you enjoy paddling or floating, the Deschutes River is ready to welcome you. With multiple public entry and exit points in Sunriver, you’ll find a day of fun on the water (even in cooler temperatures).

If you stay at a riverfront rental, you may have direct access to the Deschutes from your backyard!
