SHARC (Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic & Recreation Center) is Sunriver’s all-season recreation and aquatics center. It is the culmination of a $19 million collective community project overseen by the Sunriver Owners Association (SROA), which still oversees operations.
This impressive facility is a testament to Sunriver residents’ cooperation and dedication to providing top-tier recreation and aquatic facilities for locals and visitors alike.
SHARC has so many incredible amenities that it’s guaranteed to entertain the whole family all year long. So if you’re looking to visit this must-see Sunriver attraction, Village Properties at Sunriver has you covered. We have a number of rentals with complimentary SHARC passes and also offer up to $250 of SHARC reimbursement through our guest perks program (The VIP Experience). Even if neither of these options is selected for your stay, you can still visit SHARC through general admission.

Outdoor Aquatic Center
SHARC’s outdoor waterpark, open seasonally and weather permitting, is perfect for families looking to make a splash and beat the heat.
The outdoor pool complex features:
- Two water slides
- Lazy river
- Water Jungle Gym
- Zero Entry
- Kid’s Splash Pad
- Separate Tot Pool
- Lap Lanes
- Adult Hot Tub (16 & older)
Surrounding the aquatic amenities is a large grass area ideal for lounging in the sun. The on-premise SHARC Cafe offers a variety of food and drinks, such as beef brisket, sandwiches, veggie bowls, refreshing mango smoothies, beer, cider, and wine.
Indoor Aquatic Center
Visiting Sunriver during the spring, fall, or winter? The year-round indoor aquatic facility is an excellent place to stay active or relax on vacation during the cooler months.
The indoor pool includes:
- Zero entry to shallow kid’s pool with bubblers, spinner, and a vortex
- Adult hot tub
- Lap Lanes
- Water Basketball
- Volleyball Net
- Vortex Whirlpool
The pool water is heated to a comfortable 84˚, ensuring visitors can enjoy the indoor aquatics regardless of the weather.
REEF SHARC Cafe
REEF SHARC Cafe (operated by the independently-owned vendor, Bigfoot Barbecue) serves SHARC guests a variety of barbecue-themed food and beverages. The cafe provides patio tables, chairs, and umbrellas that are reserved for diners only.
Cafe Hours
If you are visiting SHARC during the summer season, it is likely that the REEF SHARC Cafe will be open daily. Cafe opening and hours vary from season to season. Please visit the cafe’s page to view current hours.
Menu items include:
- BBQ Sandwiches and Melts
- Tacos
- Burgers
- Salads
- Fish ‘n’ Chips & Chicken Tender Baskets
- Kids’ meals include grilled cheese, quesadilla, chicken tenders, hot dog, and mac & cheese.
- Sides include fries, coleslaw, potato salad, beans, corn ribs, cowboy caviar, mac ‘n’ cheese, and garlic Texas toast.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL food and beverages must be consumed on the patio (except water).
No outside food or drink is allowed in the SHARC facility (refillable, non-glass water bottles are OK). If you bring your own food, you may use the picnic tables at SHARC’s Paulina Park or eat at your vehicle in the SHARC parking lot.
Other Activities
Besides swimming and watersports, SHARC’s 22-acre campus offers these recreation amenities and activities:
- Sunriver’s only 9-hole Disc Golf Course
- Basketball Court
- Paulina Park – features a pavilion with tables, a youth rock climbing structure, and bocce ball
Entry May Vary
Please note that entry to SHARC is subject to change due to things out of their control such as county occupancy limits, biohazard-type incidents, maintenance/breakdowns, hazardous air quality (OSHA regulation), or inclement weather/lightning. On popular days (like summer), SHARC often reaches capacity and a line will form for entry. Please plan to get there early on such days so you can try to get in before capacity is reached.

While SHARC provides the facilities and fun, there are some additional items we recommend you bring (and leave at your rental) when you visit.

- Family-Friendly Swimwear
- Chairs, Blanket, etc. to Use on the Grass (Provided Lounge Chairs are Limited)
- Small Shade Pop-Ups or Umbrellas for Additional Shade (Provided Umbrellas are Limited)
- Reusable Swim Pants that Go Over Diapers are Required for Those in Diapers (Available for Purchase)
- Parent/Guardian for Those Under 14
What to Leave At Home
- Food and Drinks (Excluding Water) are Not Allowed in SHARC
- Glass Waterbottles
- Pets are Not Allowed
- Smoking, Vape & Tobacco Products (SHARC Is a Smoke, Vape, & Tobacco Free Zone)
- Pop-Up Canopies and Stick-in-Ground Umbrellas
Entry to SHARC
There are multiple ways you can get entry to SHARC as a Sunriver visitor. If you stay in a Village Properties at Sunriver vacation rental, you can get access to SHARC included with your stay by either choosing a home with SHARC Passes included or by selecting SHARC as your Reimbursement Guest Perk. If you choose neither of these options, you can always enter by purchasing General Admission entry.
Recreation Plus Passes
Some Village Properties at Sunriver vacation rentals provide SHARC passes as part of your stay! For guests staying at rentals that don’t have these passes, Village Properties guests will have the option to select up to $250 of SHARC Aquatic Facility entry fees to be reimbursed through the Village Properties VIP Experience.
For homes with SHARC Passes included, upon arriving at your Sunriver vacation home, you’ll see the “Recreation Plus” passes hanging by your front door or in the laundry room. These passes will grant you free entry to SHARC.
The Recreation Plus passes will also provide access to SROA Tennis and Pickleball courts (with reservation) and the SROA Deschutes River Boat Launch.
Be sure to keep track of those passes! A lost pass will result in a $100 charge.

SHARC Reimbursement Program
Many vacation homes under our management are not automatically supplied with complimentary SHARC passes. However, if you’d still like to enjoy a day at the SHARC Aquatic Facility, we’ve got you covered. You’re eligible for the SHARC Reimbursement Program when staying in any homes that don’t automatically include passes!
Through the SHARC Reimbursement Program, Village Properties at Sunriver will reimburse the cost of your SHARC Aquatic Facility admission up to $250.00 per booking and tennis/pickleball court fees up to $60 per booking. You can submit your receipt(s) online, or drop off, email, or mail your receipt to the Village Properties at Sunriver office within 15 days of purchase. Once received, our Guest Services team will take care of you!
General Admission
If you do not stay in a rental with SHARC Passes included or you do not choose the SHARC Reimbursement Program Perk, you can still visit SHARC through general admission.
